G-Shock opened 7 pop-up shops around Europe for the 30th Anniversary of G-Shock. Each city was asked to create a custom G-Shock, with a vote beginning on 28 Oct. Creative Challenge

"Together with one creative ambassador, G-SHOCK is looking out for the most interesting and remarkable creatives from all over Europe to represent their home town through their creative work. Throughout the G-Sessions campaign, these individuals or groups will rise to the challenge of completing an exceptional piece of art that will compete on a European-wide scale."


My personal favorite design is the Amsterdam piece, which is hand made entirely of leather. It was based off a Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan) lyric, "Times is Rough and Tough like Leather":

Tomas Overtoom and Liza Koifman founded their Label OntFront in 2008. The urban dandy-lifestyle brand has already been presented on catwalks in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Shanghai. People like DJ Rich Medina, D’Angelo and Musiq Soulchild were spotted in their clothing.

The team of creatives have been put together by Tomas and Liza who also run the OntFront store in Amsterdam. Guillaume Philibert, known for his outstanding sneaker designs with his label Filling Pieces, is there to make sure the concept is on point. Mathis J. Bout, stands with his bureau for [urban] architecture, research and design –URBMATH- for deciphering trends and codes of conduct within urban cultures: he will take care of the art installation. Pieter Ceizer (Ceizer) completes the team with his illustrations.

Nice looking piece, be good to see it in the flesh to see how well finished the leather is - looks good in the images.

Also surprised not more interest.
