Vintage Baby G made in Japan. Few questions.

I got this baby G and it looks quite old. I'm wondering how old it really is. Its date function starts at 1995. I expect its newer than that.
Model number bg320. Module 1523.

It also has an issue with the light.
I press the light and the first time it made a weird cracking noise and shorted. I reset the ac and it still works but will continue to short the watch and require resetting.

Would love opinions and any fix suggestions.

I'm no connoisseur of BGs, but I would say it's probably from around 2000 to 2005.
The light issue that you're having is probably because of the battery. The first thing I would do would be change the battery for a new one and then try it out.

Let us know how it worked out.

I had used a new cheap brand battery to test it. Went out and bought something decent and tadaar

Cool! You'll notice (and learn to depend on) that Gs can handle a lot of grief and bounce back.

I was pretty happy with how the dye turned out.
Did some research. This was the first of the baby G series introduced in 1997.
