Dont know yet:D,i saw two,a Men In Rusty Black and the Men In Yellow.Which do you think I should get?I can buy this maybe in a months time.I talked with a Gshock seller and I told him that either GWF 1000 BS1 or the GWF1000 1JR for christmas is the watch I want.

Today I am wearing a watch that was given to me - a DW-004. (Thanks John!)

Tried a couple of modding ideas apart from the obvious - a small amount of sterilisation and trying to match the spacer under the glass to the colour of the lettering.

The acrylic water soluble paint I bought isn't really up to the job but it gave me the chance to play. Idea is to make a stealth military watch complete with battle scars. Need to find something to fill the blank space where "CASIO 20bar water resist" was. The great temptation is to put a wee Nazi Eagle as the watch "brand" and then pass it off as a watch gifted to Erwin Rommel by Hitler himself...

The same but in harsh flashlight

DW-004 looking much better, love the model # ;). Did you re-dye band and bezel? Will keep an eye on eBay for a genuine WWII era G-Shock ;)

Given the weather here today is vaguely nautical gone with the gulfman

Do you mean GW-200MS-1JF Men In Rusty Black Frogman vs DW-8250Y-9T Men In Yellow Frogman? Tough call :D if you have to get one personally I'd go with the GW-200 series because I like this range and normally go with black watches, however the MIY is probably more collectable and has more retro appeal.

Seems like a bit of a watery bias to this weeks selections. The weather is not good in the UK - high winds and or torrential rain over the last few days - how is it in Jakarta Mr. GTR?

There was some sun this morning so I thought this little chap could do with a top up on my drive to Gatwick for a survey and meeting. Stopped off just before I got back home to take a snap. (I'm supposed to be writing a report right now!)

Haha macspite sir, I am in fact posting on this board in between my reports :p. You are right about the watery bias - I noticed that the global weather is not that good, Jakarta and Bandung (150 kilometers to the west) have also been under constant rain for the last few weeks. Which probably influences us around the world to wear our most marine G-Shocks :D.

@GTR83 can't beat the Frog :p , which is it?

@macspite - bad timing posting that pic of your Gw-7900Ms-3Er. Still got one here sat unopened in an Amazon box from a few weeks back I'd almost decided to move on to make way for some other stuff. Having seen that though...

@rutteger - it's the GF-1000BP. Non-atomic version, got it used from Malaysia from a very nice guy.

Air pressure is up and down a far bit lately. My Suunto has got a storm warning function on it, damn thing kept going off through the night, so thought I would wear it.

Loving the Red Frog, don't think you can get them in the uk. Anyone know if you can get a non atomic version or maybe just he clothes for it.

@rutteger - GOOD timing - you get to keep the watch. Remember the mantra "however many I have I still need one more"

@Bubbly Tubs - we have a storm warning system too. It's called roof tiles smashing down into the street.

Fortunately, as the 7900 shows, it's neap tides else we would be getting the recorded phone alert for potential flooding to add to the fun. One of my pikier friends has decided that he is a fence repair person this week and is doing his bit to relieve pensioners of their savings :(

Cool Suunto, always fancied one but never quite managed to sell a G to justify it. which model?

Had a quick look and not found any of the GWF-1000RD Men In Burning Red Frogs for sale in the UK, a few on the 'Bay though. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=GWF-1000RD-4JF)

It's a Suunto Core, came with an orange strap but I switched it out for a black NATO one. I've had it about three years now, kinda forgot I had it until I saw a post about the brand on another forum. Had to do a battery change and now what with the weather the damn thing won't shut up. Awesome watch though, quite fancy an Elementum in fact it is on my wish list, but at 500 quid it might have to wait a bit.

rutteger
2012-01-05, 11:53
Yeah, the Elementum looks very cool.

Gone with the GW-9200 Riseman today. I can see the barometric pressure going mad. I can also see quite a few fence panels in the back garden have gone to back this up ;)

@skiddz - Frog FTW
@Sean - 90 dollars seems ok for this watch, depends on condition I guess. It'll probably have GW-9010 on the caseback - possibly GW-9010MB.

Gone with the Gulfman today

Yesterday was not a good day. Woke with a ferocious "hangover" and was physically sick - strange as I haven't had a drink for seven years! Lay in bed and slept until 15:00. Decided to drag myself out for the monthly committee meeting so thought this would be noticeable and one they hadn't seen before:

Liked it so much that I decided it would like to come out today to West Hampstead and Gatwick Airport!

rutteger
2012-01-06, 16:47
Bad news on felling sick - what can be worse than feeling hungover if you don't drink (barring of course serious illness).

Still another fine G-shock choice. Seem to recall seeing it before, what model # is it?

macspite
2012-01-06, 18:09
It's a DWX-100 G-Lide. Nice clean face, easy to read. And I love the mid 90's futuristic looks!

Only problem with sleeping a fair amount yesterday was not sleeping overnight. Hence now tired after a day out at wor...zzzZZZ <snore>

Nice Frog - but what have you got in the box? And how can you "save for later"? With me The box gets ripped open as soon as I can grab it from a startled postie!

Went for a wee trip into town and ended up in Costa:

Nice, austere black and silver G-Shock but, like a dowdy librarian wearing Victoria's Secret lingerie, it has a hidden side to its character:

I'm sure whatever you have incoming is interesting judging from the rest of your collection, even if not a G :D

Picked it up from another watch forum, think it was TZ. Bloke couldn't shift it, had it listed for ages. Some up on eBay but you got to risk customs > http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=gw-200z&_sacat=See-All-Categories

@macspite - the AW series have always fascinated me too, right now thinking of ripping off the AWG-591RL from a friend's wrists :p It's a poor man's burning red G-Shock since I haven't been able to find a GWF-1000RD for a "reasonable" price yet.

If you do track down a Red Froggie at a bargain price make sure you get two, I'll pretty much trade anything I have for one, or I could just pay for it.

Everywhere I look I am seeing them around the $800-900 range, BNIB. A local importer offered one for a total of $1,100 shipped, all taxes and duties paid. There are also a few used ones on auction.yahoo.co.jp but you have to use the services of a proxy bidder since Yahoo Japan Auctions do not allow foreigners to join.
