• G-Shock Rangeman - New Master of G Triple Sensor?

News just in via forum member Deaks and the Casio UK facebook page of an all new Master of G spotted at Baselworld 2013.

No details other than the image really. Looks like an all new Master of G with triplr sensor technology - this would be the first true ABC G-Shock. If this model ever sees series production the G-Shock Rangeman is sure to be popular!

Very interesting, looks like it is a straight port of the new prw3000 module, complete with multiband 6. Can't tell if this is merely a "mockup" or seriously pre-production. I'm in for a go if real.

I stand corrected. The new module needs no external sensors. I wonder if casio is using the "older" current module and will separate protreks from gshocks that way :what:

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out for sure. Always thought Casio had perhaps held back on a full ABC G-Shock in order not to tread on the toes of their own Pro Trek line. Maybe the chunkier module with outboard sensor is a way of differentiation, maybe it's because it's more rugged than a Pro Trek module. I'm interested to wait and see

It does look tidy. What has put me off sensor watches is their accuracy. They don't provide accurate readings from an on the wrist measurement. Taking the watch off and waiting to get a reading isn't a preferred method for most. If your travelling light then it will do it's job to a certain extent.
Then again I'm looking at it as I do all my watches, from an aesthetic point of view.

That one looks old and well-worn. Appears that some of the letters are worn off. Maybe a prototype that's been around for a while? No Tough Solar? Oh wait, I guess they just didn't include the "Tough Solar" label. Luv the big metal buttons but the overall design doesn't particularly appeal. The fake slotted screws I can do without.

Does anyone know its size ? Any bigger than the actual Riseman ?
    1. chrisek's Avatar
      chrisek -
Yes it is. Sizing is based on the 9300-series mudman.

Anyone know when this will hit the market?

It is on Casio Germany's page at the moment. Timing has been all over the map, from next week in Germany to Oct/Nov. Kind of unsure.

US release says November from Casio USA.

Any other members have any info?

Don't see the current photos so let me bring this up here as well. 3 versions known so far with a possible 4th.

      First, the black positive display.

      Attachment 7361

There have been a couple variations of the black one, so it isn't known if there is only one or if there will be two.

The green with the negative display. Also worldwide release.

      Attachment 7362

And then the lightning yellow. Part of the 5th wave and Japan only (as far as we know). GW9430e-9.

      Attachment 7363

      Hope this helps.

Also, UK rumors of non atomic version (G9400 or GR9400) have not been verified.

And it is also known that this watch is using the v3 sensor like the protrek PRW3000.

I suppose this Rangeman will stop 9200' and 9300' production...

the base model looks like it would make a great darth vader collab..

i don't know how i feel about this watch..i certainly don't like the pricing..especially moreso since the 9200's are dropping like a rock.

I think the 9200's are dropping like a rock because this watch is coming out . . .. .

I agree, UK pricing is definitely on the high side. US and Japan pricing very reasonable.

What should we expect for pricing in the US?

Retail in US will be $300 for the GW9400, per Casio USA.

i really wonder how much more the atomic and special versions will be. that will prolly put it over 400. which is around what the price of the 1000 base frogman is right now

The GW9400 is the atomic version. That is actually really aggressive pricing as the atomic mudman is/was US $330-$350.

hmmmm..something has to give. either the riseman and mudmans will plummet or the rangeman will increase..or hold steady price wise for a long time. the special edition of the rangeman might be the place to throw your money, if you're looking for an increase in value...a special edition that's initially undervalued at an already high price.....?..it could happen..
