Great watch!!!! But one thing though, that compas takes almost half of the display itself. maybe that would be one thing that would bother me.

Hi - My DW-6600 went from 28th of Feb to 1st of March. Then I had to re-adjust time by pressing the adjust button and moving to the date position and then pressing the decrease button (B button, upper right corner of watch) and date went to 29th of Feb without any issues or problems...

Just wondering If the inside of the DW-6600 watch has a like a tag saying that you have to reset the time by pushung the AC and the battery contact with a sharp tweezer. Some of these G-Shocks have that to let the watch service shops know. Does the DW-6600 have this tag or warning inside...

I guess I can live without the exact dates. Time would be more important to me anyway. I am by the computer all day, so year and date would not be an issue. Anyway, I may get another type as well sometime in the future. 2039....Its the G-Shock's own Y2K thing.... :cool:

I was looking over the manual, and there is no year setting for this version. On the net, it only states that it is pre-programmed until year 2039. In manual it has this diagram on how to set the times and dates by this order, but not the year. See attached picture. Thx.

I would rather have a watch service shop do it. First of all I dont have the tools. No wonder its hard to replace the battery because these watches are built for toughness and to resist water.

@macspite - sure why not. Please do. Are you sure that the battery (CR2016) for the DW-6600 are still available to get anywhere? In the meantime, I went to youtube and seen the videos for replacing the batteries on G-shocks. I have to admit here, that It is VERY VERY hard.... So I think...

Yesterday I traded in my GD100-1B because of the dark display for the DW-6600 watch. Just couldnt handle the dark display, just could not. Period. But, my question is, can I still replace the battery for the DW-6600? These take the CR2016 batteries. See here for more details...

I would recommend these two - The DW-6600 or the G9000MS-1 (Mudman) - But be aware, that this version of the Mudman has a very dark display unless you want to keep using the backlight all the time which tends to shed battery life. As for the DW-6600, its very hard to get in local watch...
