One Piece (ワンピース Wan Piisu), a Japanese shonen manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man whose body gains the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil's Fruit, and his diverse crew of pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy explores the ocean in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as One Piece in order to become the next Pirate King.
Last year, Bandai and G-Shock released two collaboration pieces for the manga series using custom DW-5600E and DW-6900CB G-Shocks.
After the big hit of the One Piece G-Shocks, Bandai and G-Shock has released a follow-up, the "Strawhat Crew Limited Edition" model of 3000 units. Rough translation for the new LE is:
"Introducing the hit "G-SHOCK ........" model is renewed! Was a big hit last year. "Straw G-Shock ........" has undergone a quality up further as a 'Limited Edition' model and will be released in 3000 limited production quantities. More beautiful, cool. Commercialized in gloss black color and fearless fashionable! The design based on the model "Straw" last change to the model DW6900 body. Adopt the color of gloss was very popular in the last edition Monkey."
This model was available for pre-order back in January of this year from Bandai Japan and was quickly sold out.
I've been a fan of the manga series as a growing up as a kid and couldn't pass up the opportunity to pick this up. I didn't pick up the first two releases because of the designs combinations - loved the red DW-6900 but not the graphics, loved the graphics on the DW-5600E but it didn't suit the 5600 model.
All I can say is that Bandai took the best design elements of the previous two releases and delivered it with the 3rd - graphics and color from the DW-5600E, mirror display plate and body from the DW-6900. They "quality up"d this with something a die hard G-Shock collaboration collector couldn't pass up - a custom trunk case, LOL!
Now let's get to unboxing this fearless fashionable!

Couldn't pass up taking a photo of the receipt. With the current exchange rate 19,025Y isn't a bad price ;-)
Well protected as always as most things I receive from Japan.
First of two plastic protectors. Not many G-Shock collaborations are this well packaged little details like this goes a long way.
There's no mistaking that this is a ONE PIECE G-Shock.
Lets take a quick spin at the outer box design.

Here is the ONE PIECE custom trunk case with silver Straw Hats pirate flag emblem. The trunk is a matte black with glossy spot varnishes of other various pirate flag emblems printed all over the trunk case.

Opening the trunk is the ONE PIECE x G-Shock DW-6900FS. The ONE PIECE DW-6900FS model features black glossy resin with white accents.
The LCD bezel surround is a mirror finish with a standard non-mirror LCD display with custom Straw Hats pirate flag emblem EL backlight. Little details include the One Piece logo above the 3-eyes and "Straw Hat Crew" text in place of CASIO.

The buckle side details are silouhetted characters knocked out on the text "Mugiwara" which means "strawhat"
The strap side features the Straw Hat's pirate ship "Thousand Sunny"
And a final parting shot with the caseback graphic with Luffy being given his signature straw hat by Red-Haired Shanks - who is the pirate that inspired Luffy to go on his journey as a pirate.
