Customizing G-Shocks

Good morning everyone,

Growing up I build military models so I have experience with those technicques which go with the hobby. My question is does anyone out there know where I can buy the dies use for customizing the bezels and bands? and if you do anybody have any recommendations like what to do, and what not to do. What to stay away from or even if there is a store which specialises in this type of hobby.

Any and all help will be highly appreciated regarding this matter. Thanks in advance for any help from everyone.

Sincerely,
BB72.

There are some expert modders in this very forum... I'm a bit surprised nobody has replied to you yet! Though I'm nowhere near an expert modder, and I've never dyed anything myself... I hear that the consensus is that RIT dye powder (not liquid) is the best for dyeing resin. You can have a look online for this.

Best results are obtained from light coloured matte style resin (as opposed to glossy), as you can only dye to something darker. Apparently you'll have to "cook" the resin in a dye mixture just under a boil and longer the resin is in the richer the colour will dye into the resin. Patterns and camo are achieved by masking parts of the resin with tape (like duct tape) and repeatedly dyeing the resin darker colours...

That's it in a nutshell :)

basically you can use a host of diff dyes as long as theyre made for nylon as well (itll say on the box)
i got a few rit colours from ebay and a couple from a large sewing/craft store chain
