Problem with my first G-Shock

Hey! New to G-shocks and watches in general. Yesterday my first one arrived in the mail and I'm unsure if this is the way it's supposed to be? The "a" button used to change just about every setting is pushed "in" and somewhat useless. The button still works, but only if I used a pointy object such as a toothpick, can't press it by just using my finger. Are the buttons supposed to be this far "in"? The other buttons aren't and can easily be operated by my fingers. Just curious if this is normal or should I exchange for a new one? Please see pics below :)

Welcome to the zone, Hess!

I believe you have a DW-5600E, in which case the recessed adjust button is normal, it's just designed so that you can't accidentally press or activates adjust mode from drops or bumps. It is awkward to press sometimes, but I find that using the tips of the fingernails works well for me :)
