I had lost my GW1500A back in 2012 when I was moving. Yesterday it mysteriously reappeared. The GW1500 wasn't their best G Shock, but that watch has been on my wrist through some fun times, so I was very happy to recover it. The battery was completely dead. Thinking that it was a simple thing, I just dropped it off to a local jeweler to change the battery. He charged me $10.00
So now I am reading online that the battery is a $30.00 battery typically. I know he didn't under-charge me for sure. Was it possible that he put in some fake knock off battery that fit?
Im thinking that this battery he put in is not rechargeable and will not hold a charge. Any thoughts?

If its really $30.00 to replace the battery I will probably just pass since I think I paid $50.00 for the watch to begin with back in 2006
Then I will just go but the Rangerman I want
