Casio PRT-40E not working

Hi guys, newbie here,

I recently purchased an used PRT-40 very cheaply, knowing however, that it might be defective. Anyway, I checked the batteries (both V399's are fully loaded) and tried resetting the watch - with no effect, though. The display doesn't show any sign of life... Any ideas what could be the cause? For how long do I have to connect AC with the positive pole of the battery when resetting it?

Hi

I bought it about a week ago via ebay.

Fun fact: two days ago I bought another one on ebay with one screw not tightening. My new plan is to assemble one good watch out of two defective ones. However, if I could bring the first one back to life, it would be a nice side effect
