Guessing you're in the UK? Where are you going, range and price on the high street not that amazing. Of course if you're going somewhere like Ghock East in London the story is different...

For around a ton here are a few a 'bit different'

GR-8900A-7 > http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-G-Sho...R-8900A-7ER/dp/B005FEYB7E/ref=pd_cp_watches_3

GA-100-9 > http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-Gents-Watch-G-Shock-GA-100A-9AER/dp/B0039YOI70/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_1_2

GX-56 > http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-Gents...r_1_12?s=watch&ie=UTF8&qid=1329944204&sr=1-12

If you give us a rough idea on format (digital or ani / digi), colour and any functions you need can better advise...

Happy birthday! Are you going to G-Shock East/West? If so they have a few models on sale. If not with £100 in your hand you can pretty much choose from 90% of the stock, only a few watches cost more than that and are probably a bit more 'specialist' than you will need for your first watch.

Yes I'm in the UK.
I want a digital ideally.
Like you said though I ain't going to get any raritys from local retailers.
I like the dw6900 range so I'm thinkin its my target.

Happy Birthday! Pleased to hear that you have got a watch that you are happy with, the GR-8900a is fine looking piece of kit. Can we have a picture or two in the "WRUW" thread please? :D

I would recommend these two - The DW-6600 or the G9000MS-1 (Mudman) - But be aware, that this version of the Mudman has a very dark display unless you want to keep using the backlight all the time which tends to shed battery life.

As for the DW-6600, its very hard to get in local watch shops. Your best bet is to look around for this version on the internet.
Its rugged and looks awesome. Highly recommended.

Take a look at this vid here. Go to 09:40. Thats the watch I am speaking of to get.

Nice choice, which colour did you go with and where did you manage to pick one up :)

@gshockfreak9999 - DW-6600 is indeed a classic and very legible but not so easy to get hold of anymore, pretty sure it's out of production.
