Hi guys,

Do any of you know much about the 5500 Alife models. I'm lucky enough to of got one, but then found out that this one is probably part of a limited run, where as another one very similar looking but with a lightning bolt added to the design could well be far more collectible.*

Any info would be much appreciated

Interesting, had a quick look and it does look like there maybe two version of this collaboration.

The initial release of the G-5500AL-1 features the lightening bolt and was limited to 200 pieces > http://www.highsnobiety.com/news/2010/12/17/alife-x-g-shock-g5500al-1/

Also seems to be have been a general release of the G-5500AL without the lightening bolts > http://www.gshock.com/news/79E931DA-D72F-46F5-A608-5492C468A212 which assume was produced in greater numbers. Certainly had these in stock in GSE last year when I visited...

Seen this in other collabs like the Subcrew x G-Shock DW-6900...

Cheers for the info Rutteger. Came across the former at a pretty good price, and thinking of going for it. Seller said it was limited to 200, but every watch sold nowadays seems to be limited.

With the bolt? That'd be nice.

Selling limited edition, collaborations etc. seems a key part of Casio's G-shock strategy. And why not I guess.
