My Japan made ones have a serial number except the DW-6900FS. My Thailand made ones don't have a serial number except the GBA-800. What mandates a G-Shock to have a serial number?

I want to but not right now, I just bought 2 G-Shock in the last 2 months! The prices are going higher and higher We'll see if I can save enough to get the next one.

It looks like an orange unit (#6) with a gold outer cover protector (#1). There should be a white sticker on the underside of the box which would have the actual model number.

IMHO the original G-Shock model is the grail.

Had my one and only G-Shock DW-5600 since 1992 until 2012 when I bought a GW-530A. I would like to add a few more and so it continues.

I hope someday I'll have a lightning yellow from the 30th or the next wave.

Rutteger, thanks for the article! PCTEK, many lower priced JF G-Shock sold in Japan (Japan Domestic Model) are actually made in China and Thailand. I prefer the Japan made ones but to each his own.

Some models have various band colors and there's no guessing if it would fit or not. Transplanting other bands would be great but it's really tricky unless it's advertised to fit; ask and see what's been posted in forum rather than doing the trial and error which could get costly and frustrating.
