I heard that they can go upwards to $70 especially for the GY version, probably because it's too new. But getting spare straps for limited G-Shocks are not impossible at all - I just recently purchased a spare resin set for the GF-1000BP and the items came from Singapore.

Everywhere I look I am seeing them around the $800-900 range, BNIB. A local importer offered one for a total of $1,100 shipped, all taxes and duties paid. There are also a few used ones on auction.yahoo.co.jp but you have to use the services of a proxy bidder since Yahoo Japan Auctions do not...

@macspite - the AW series have always fascinated me too, right now thinking of ripping off the AWG-591RL from a friend's wrists :p It's a poor man's burning red G-Shock since I haven't been able to find a GWF-1000RD for a "reasonable" price yet.

I voted for resin, since to me, it is what makes the G-Shocks what they are. We are not as afraid to damage the resin on a G-Shock while wearing it than an all metal one (a la the MRGs). Spare resin sets are also way cheaper. Once we get to wear all metal G-Shocks we start worrying about...

Maybe that will happen to me one day with a GWF-1000RD! This model is too insanely expensive right now, or just downright unavailable at all - certainly deserves Grail status.

Always had the non atomic version in mind and maybe get a spare carbon fiber strap from the GW version. It never hurts to have spares doesn't it? But still can't decide on either 9300-1 or 9300GY. Luckily the 9300GY is out of stock everywhere right now so I don't have to make a decision yet...

@rutteger - it's the GF-1000BP. Non-atomic version, got it used from Malaysia from a very nice guy.

2011's G-Highlights (as in both regarding G-Shocks and general life) for me would be: - The purchase of my first Frogman which so happens to be a GF-1000BP. Awesome watch. My friends call me crazy for spending close to USD 400 on a resin watch, but at the end of the day, they want it too haha...
