EQW-A1000 Edifice Series release announced

EQW-A1000DC_press_m.jpgCasio Japan have officially announced full details, release date and release prices for the upcoming EQW-A1000 Edifice series. This new Edifice line was first previewed at Baselworld 2011 and features Casio's new "Smart Access" system. The "Smart Access" system drives the three main hands independently thus allowing rapid hand movement and almost seamless switching between functions. Further the crown also operates as a button.
The EQW-A1000 line features atmoic timekeeping, stopwatch and lap timer, countdown timer, alarm, world time and auto calendar - all in a tough solar analogue package.
Three variant are available in the initial release, the pictured EQW-A1000DC which features a metal bracelet and PVD coating, the EQW-A1000DB in full stainless with a bracelet and the EQW-A1000B which comes on a resin strap. Release date is 31st August in Japan, release prices are ¥52,500 (USD$650, GBP£390) for the resin strapped EQW-A1000B, ¥57,750 (USD$710, GBP£430) for the stainless EQW-A1000DB and ¥62,000 (USD$760, GBP£460) for the PVD EQW-A1000DC.
