    Black Scuffs

You would have to use something with abrasive properties, like sandpaper, buffing compound, even steel wool. The problem is that by the same process that you remove the scuffs, you may leave buffing marks. So unless you have already done something similar I wouldn't risk it. The best solution...

    Black Scuffs

Oh, now I think I see them. It looks like the resin is scratched close to the black rivet and under the "Shock" lettering. If it's indeed a scratch there isn't much you can do short of trying to buff them out - and that's not easy to do, since you can replace a scratch with buff marks.

Maybe if you showed us a clearer pic we could give you an idea, but I really can't see what your're referring to with that pic.

    Who's going for the Rangeman?

I ordered mine from Seiya. On Rakuten they're pretty much gone (last I checked there was just one seller offering a green), but but you can find them on evilBay for up to 10% more then Rakuten. I didn't look, but they're probably also available on Yahoo Japan. As expected, this first batch was...

    Who's going for the Rangeman?

Mine is already flying towards me () - I've been waiting for an ABC G-Shock for at least 12 years! Who else has one incoming?

Help needed ,Heart Breaking Condition wademan... & others

Sorry to hear that, but unfortunately, it's something common and predictable. It's called "resin rot", where the resin slowly decays with the years, to the point that it starts crumbling ("rotting"). There isn't much you can do to avoid this, some say that keeping the watches in a vacuum...

    Auto EL

Since you're going to return it, first try whacking it on the table. Seriously: nothing major, just hit it against a table. Sometimes the auto EL trigger (that's a micro ball) can get stuck, and a small knock can make it work again.

    They're the same thing.

    Auto EL

Sometimes the angle that you have to twist your wrist is a bit awkward to make the light come on. Did you try slowly turning the watch around in your hand in the dark?

nubie question about altimeter possible malfunciton of Module 2767 Pathfinder PRG-60

I would think so. A bad battery causes all sorts of erratic behaviors, so the first thing I would do would be address the battery. But you have to understand that (Tough) solar or not, it still has a battery, so you will have to replace it eventually. My oldest ProTrek (my all-around beater...

How do you feel about using Vibrators?

Oh, I see what you mean now - I was thinking in terms of genealogy or features/functions and you were thinking more stereotypically . I'm aware of the "Save the Earth & the Sea" model, not exactly my taste but quite an eye catcher. I bet it would look good in a collection with all the Riseman...

nubie question about altimeter possible malfunciton of Module 2767 Pathfinder PRG-60

Welcome aboard Dunnin! The first thing you have to check is the battery. Though the display is showing that the battery is on high, you'll see that it not always means that the battery is working 100% specially when we're talking about batteries 10 years old. So first of all, let it soak a LOT...
